- Interactive discussion features ISG partner and FinTech expert Owen Wheatley
Information Services Group (ISG) (Nasdaq: III), a leading global technology research and advisory firm, will host a live, interactive discussion for providers on the changing requirements of next-generation banking on Wednesday, January 31, at 9 a.m., U.S. Eastern Time.
The hour-long webinar, “Dynamics and Implications of Next-Gen Banking,” will be presented by ISG Partner Owen Wheatley, head of the firm’s Banking and Financial Services practice. During the session, part of the ISG Smartalks™ series, Wheatley will address the changing nature of sourcing in the banking industry, the impact of new technologies such as artificial intelligence and blockchain, and new competition from specialized FinTech and RegTech providers.
“Banks and financial services firms historically have been early adopters of sourcing and emerging technologies, and their appetite for digital capabilities continues to grow, fueled by the need to serve customers anytime, anywhere, and address heightened security and regulatory concerns,” said Wheatley. “Providers that hope to tap into the wave of next-gen banking would do well to master the fast-changing technological, operational and business requirements of the industry.”
Banks are becoming more discerning in their selection of providers, seeking specific industry knowledge and expertise in technologies such as cognitive, big data and AI platforms to provide personalized banking services – which banks view as important new sources of profitable growth, Wheatley said. “Born digital” FinTech and RegTech providers that offer specialized capabilities in such areas as cryptocurrency and digital cash, distributed ledger technology, smart contracts, open banking and cybersecurity are a new source of competition for providers that have traditionally supported the back end of the house, he said.
ISG is a leading advisor to the banking and financial services industry, working with 11 of the top 15 banks in the U.S. and 12 of the top 20 banks in Europe to digitally transform their operations for greater efficiency and faster growth.
ISG invites those interested in joining the conversation to register online. A replay will be made available after the webinar for those unable to participate in the live, interactive session.
